Los Angeles Metropolitan Youth Orchestra
Feng-Hsiu Lee started musical training in his native country, Taiwan. He came to the United States in the 1990s to attend college and later graduate school. In 2006, he founded the Los Angeles Youth Music Society and four performance groups within the society. In addition to directing the orchestra, Mr. Lee is active in performing as a soloist and collaborating with other musicians in performing chamber music. Mr. Lee holds a Ph.D. in musicology, and four master's degrees in music composition, piano performance, ethnomusicology and library information science. He has taught music courses in universities in both the United States and Taiwan.
Los Angeles Metropolitan Youth Orchestra (LAMYO)
consists of approximately 35 talented young musicians from the greater Los Angeles area. Under the artistic direction and guidance of Music Director, Dr. Feng-Hsiu Lee, the orchestra performs various music genres. For the 2016-2017 season, LAMYO plans to be engaged in a series of concerts, community outreach and charitable events.
